Watch the gains pool.

Any remainder left after distributing gains to all players will be put in the gains pool. The gains pool is given to the next player to sell. If multiple players sell at the same time, they split the gains pool.

The gains pool can become very full and change the course of a game, so keep an eye on it!

Not selling can pay off BIG.

The biggest possible gains in the game come from being the last player to not have sold. Since any gains that come up won't not split between other players, you can earn a huge amount by taking the extra risk of staying in.

Count those cards.

There are 10 Beartraps (2 of each type) + 20 Gains (1-20), totaling 30 total cards in the deck. You can do some simple math to determine your chances if you want to play smart.
